It was onset of winter in 1974. This winter was different for the Kubo family. This winter was a start of a new venture when they decided to invest in a Log Carrier which was used for tramping between Japan coast and Philippines; and this proved to be a stepping stone in shipping business. Later they invested in PCC and series of Chemical Tankers for next decade and more. The first Aframax Tanker “Rich Duke” was bought and managed by the company in 1986; and then followed a series of Bulk Carriers and Oil Tankers like VLCC, Aframax, MR Product Tankers and LR2 Tankers vessels. In total, there are more than fifty vessels that have been managed by Fuyo Kaiun. The company has very strategically managed and planned the assets by renewing the fleet. There have been challenges in vessel management, however with times, the company has shown strong determination and unwavering confidence and is on the path of growth with the support of all stakeholders.
